It was a proud day for the IML team on Friday 12th March 2010, as the grand opening of their new state of the art distribution centre was officially opened. Over 100 invited IML customers, guests and staff were on hand to celebrate the festivities, which was set in the foyer of the new IML Warehouse 2. Showcased was the newest acquisition to the IML Fleet, TK52 the latest high-tech materials handling pole loader unit.

The official proceedings were commenced by the Chief Executive Office of IML, Mr Anthony Benino, who warmly welcomed the group on what was an especially warm day. While the guests enjoyed refreshments, Anthony stated what a proud day for the Ridolfo and IML family it was, as this day formally recognised the construction and implementation of the wonderful office, warehousing and hardstand facility at the Magnet Rd site. The new IML Distribution Centre facility boasts new corporate offices, with two warehouses providing over 10,000 square meters of total storage. Also on site is over 3000 square meters of concrete hard stand and 1000 square meters of offices. The site also features a purpose built gantry crane specifically designed for one of IML’s key anchor clients.

In his address, Anthony also described how IML has significantly invested in IML operations. Anthony stated that in addition to the new warehouse facilities, modern operational systems and management team, IML can cater for any logistics requirement no matter how big or small. Anthony also confirmed that IML were in the final stages of implementing satellite and GPS tracking systems which he added “will further assist in ensuring our client’s requirements are met al all times. These systems will also provide clients with the capability to track in real time the status of their transportation requirements”

It was then time for the Honourable Mr Simon O’Brien, Minister for Transport to say a few words. Mr O’Brien articulated how impressed he was with the new facilities and how grateful he was able to be part of such an important day for not only the IML Organisation but also the Ridolfo Family. In his address, Mr O’Brien explained that he has attended quite a few transport establishments over the years, and confirmed that the new IML Distribution Centre holds IML in good stead for the future. Mr O’Brien then requested that Mrs Domenica Ridolfo and Mr Anthony Ridolfo join him on stage for the official unveiling proceedings.

With the curtain drawn to reveal the official opening plaque, the formal proceedings were over; it was time to enjoy the food and refreshments on offer. Each guest were treated to an IML goodie bag in appreciation for joining the IML team on such a special day.
