IML is forging ahead with its plan to become a wholly accredited organisation, pursuing industry best practices in all areas of its operations.
The first achievement was way back in 1996, when Intercon Logistics achieved International Standards Organisation (ISO) accreditation for quality assurance (ISO 9001:2000).
In March of last year (2008), Intercon Logistics were successful in their bid for Occupational Health and Safety accreditation (AS/NZS 4801:2001). Click for full details of IML’s Quality Assurance and OHS policy. [links]
IML has combined its pursuit of excellence with its interest in sustainable business operations and is now aiming for the ISO’s environmental accreditation (ISO 14001).
Pursuing this standard means that IML will be developing environmental management systems relevant to the industries in which they operate. The objective of such a system is to continually manage and improve environmental performance.
IML hopes to assure its stakeholders, employees and customers that it is an environmentally responsible company by achieving these goals (as set out within the ISO 14001 standard):
We’ll be sure to let you know when we get this one under our belt!
